SAM FROM SYDNEY SAYS:09:40:19 AM Friday, 13th June, 2008
I have lost respect for dateline on this Biased reporting from Mark. The facts on the ground tell other wise.
I wonder how many reports like this we never payed attention to that misled us.
If you follow the Lebanese situation, the facts prove quiet the opposite to this report.
Didn't Sameer Geagea participate in the Sabra and Chatila massacres?? and got Jailed for other war crimes during the civil war?? Like Jim from Sydney said, maybe we were watching FOX.
JIM FROM SYDNEY SAYS:10:34:29 AM Thursday, 12th June, 2008
That was one of the most abysmal reports i\'ve seen in a while, looks like it was straight off Fox news. A shame to journalism and Dateline. It was quite obvious the reporter wanted to portray the biased side of the story instead of reporting the facts on the ground. A bit of research will reveal that Gagea is a man who changes his opinion and stance just like we change our underwear, surprising that he got \'selected\' as the only \'willing\' politician to appear on his show. And that man who was letting his kids play with his AK47, was he one of the snipers from the Future movement killing students who were peacefully protesting?
RESPECTNJUSTICE4ALL FROM SYDNEY SAYS:09:00:06 AM Thursday, 12th June, 2008
Seems to me that almost all of Lebanon’s grief comes from Israel’s policies and actions (aided by the USA). "Divide and conquer" for profits and more territory I suspect. Israel’s Lebanon invasion and destruction is a crime utterly beyond my imagination in this day
TONY FROM SYDNEY SAYS:11:07:57 PM Wednesday, 11th June, 2008
Will the Lebanese know that they are pawns in a bigger game... The sooner parties understand this, the sooner they will start to resort to negotiations in resolving their disputes, rather then ordering their supporters to take their arms to the streets..
DISGRUNTLED FROM VICTORIA SAYS:09:58:20 PM Wednesday, 11th June, 2008
A disgraceful portrail of independent reporting once again by a clearly belligerent and ignorant buffoon. Conveniently excluded that the only MP (Samir Geagea ) willing to talk to him is a confessed
RAMZAN FROM SYDNEY SAYS:09:38:51 PM Wednesday, 11th June, 2008
I think Lebanon is capable of pulling itself together but I guess the reason why it has not happened yet is because many powerful parties are interested in fueling the conflict. Not sure about the $ numbers but there is always some one making money on conflicts like that. In the report there were Syria and Iran mentioned to be supporting Hamass but would not Israel be interested if Hamass army diverted its attention to internal conflict?
REMA FROM PERTH SAYS:11:54:10 AM Wednesday, 11th June, 2008
Yes it can, he problem is for how long?
All through Lebanon's history the different factions have changed alliances so often that every faction has been allied with every other faction at least once, and in some cases consequently betrayed the other also.
This is the byproduct of external interference by which Lebanon is the most affected due to its numerous factions.
I would not hesitate in describing it as one Lebanon's industries, Political Trade.
great story. not only did it make sense of a complicated situation, it was beautifully written. mark is a natural story-teller.
