This story tries to show that Afghan ex-patriots return to Afghanistan in view of all the risk that is present there to help rebuild their war torn country. On one side, it highlights the progress made as it shows professional and quality based businesses open up, on the other side, it shows that there is a lot of work that remains to be done, as people are still suffering. This is not the "rich" vs. "poor" or some religion based debate. I know, Farhad Ghafoor, he is an inspiration to his people. It is easy to make a judgment while you are sitting in your comfortable environments. We all need encouragement and support, not let-downs and negativity. We need to see the good in people not the bad.

i just watched the documentry and i want to say why didnt the reporters show afghans who are actually living better instead of doing the old rich v poor. The poor people need to be helped to make a change and right now the government is busy building apartments and shopping halls for the upper class people of kabul and forgetting that a short distance away people are living in tents.

Your online article describes an Afghan as "Afghani". Afghani is the name for Afghan currency. Goods are bought with Afghanis. The people of Afghanistan are Afghans. It is an error made by those who have obviously never been there, and it brings into question the authority and accuracy of the story.

It is true that people in Afghanistan get richer or poorer . The most important thing which is missing in our country is the true following of our religion. If each Afghan behaves correctly and properly according to Islam, most of our problems are solved. The need is on practical side of saying something. We like to advice others but we dont start a positive Islamic change in each aspect of our lives.

I agree to what Jawad (SA) said that Richer gets rich and Poor gets poorer ... and its not that Afganistan is facing that and not Australia, Poverty is every where. Eeryone today want to be better then the other, people dont bother to see those who need help, everyone and i mean EVERYONE is walking and living blindly which is the sadest think, and extremly harsh but what can one or two do? not much ... All we can do is PRAY. Peace and hope for better =]

I watched the documentary and the reporter has chosen a two contrasting character, one very rich and another very poor and also made the journalist made a generalization that many Afghans are living under those conditions. It is no to deny that poverty is not a problem in Afghanistan but it would have been better to include more people and people of middle grounds. there is also a link between poverty and extremist view expressed by the poor people. There was a kind of ignorance or arrogance expresed by the Afghan rich person returnee trying to hide the realities of Afghanistan and painted a positive a good picture taling from his convenient and luxurious position.
