If I’m not mistaking oil is the main reason US is in Iraq, and would like to be in Iran also. So we must first find out, will it be withdrawal from cities or withdrawal from cities AND Oil fields. Insurgents (people of Iraq) are asking who and where is the oil revenue going to, and why not to them? The withdrawal of total foreign troops from all Iraqi areas and interests will put the nation in peace.

So called constant insurgency is the consequency of western invasion lead by USA. Its sole purpose was oil. USA had no interest in staying in Somalia in 1992 because there was no oil there. Stop dreaming of withdraw foreign troops.

In 1977 my husband and I travelled through Iraq. The people were very welcoming and helpful. Your report from Karrada included an interview with a young woman Iraq artist. As I am against Australias involvement in the war in Iraq and to support her is it possible to contact her through you? As I now run a community gallery on the Mid North Coast to highlight what people in Iraq are living through for us who are so cut off from what is happening in Baghdad in a physical sense it would highlight the futility of war and its impact on people living through conflict. We are a community gallery one of our roles is to bring issues into the community for discussion or education. I dont know how elses to contact you. Thank you

We can't be sure, but we should give it a go. It should not be forqotten that the US and Co intrusion, in the first place, was responsible for creating an insurgency battlefield. Without the US around it may well be that more serious attempt to end conflict will be undertaken by those involved in the sectarian divide, in most cases Shiites and Sunnis. James Dunn

Yes, many Iraqis see the occupation as the issue that drives the jihadis and feeds the suspicion that the US is after their oil.

Absolutely. Vietnam is a good example...Peace came to this war-torn nation after all the foreign troops went home.
