Hello to the crew at Living Black. Just wondering if you have ever considered broadcasting a show on Tasmania, and put the myths to rest that our aboriginal culture is extinct. I think Tasmanian's would really benefit from this, as our identity in my opinion is becoming unclear.
Dear Emma, I just wanted to let you know how well presented and well put together your story on Indigneous employees at Tabro Meat was. You showed both sides of the equation - the advantages for the young Indigenous men from up north who've come to Tabro Meat in Victoria to work and the advantages for us, as a company. Thankyou for a job well done. Brian Victorsen Assistant General Manager, Tabro Meat
G'day, the federal govt needs to stop the 'Invasion intervention" now so the folk can go back home.. who'd want to live in the Isa anyway.. only Izarians all caked up with lead.... stop the intervetion Rudd and be a rudder for australia and not the elite religious right.
Dear Karla Grant, I refer to the feature Marijuana and Depression featured on Living Black 3 September, 2008 I find it really condescending for Prof Jan Copeland to focus on the 'problem' of marijuana use when the real issue is that many of the people living in the remote communities appear to have very little hope, the chance of a prosperous future, 'comfort' and joy in their lives. Unemployment is astronomically high. Full access to education is abysmally low. Adequate housing and health care is diabolically lacking. Future prospects and hope for individuals living in the remote communities is almost non-existent. And one wonders why marijuana use has increased!!! Academics, politicians and other professionals must be really dumb if they cannot see the reason as to why this has happened. Either that or they are trying to shift the emphasis because the true reason (for the increased use) is too 'political' to discuss. The only way in which chronic marijuana use will be reduced is when individuals have some concrete future which is worthwhile looking forward towards and planning for. Meanwhile all the rhetoric about how the overuse can be combated through health programs, education and increased police presence/vigilance is mere hot-air and will do nothing to resolve the cause of the 'problem'.
I greatly respect and value what you are doing with this program and would like to be involved in any way that I can. I have a plethora of ideas and information that may be of assistance...please let me know who best to contact.. thank you for your time and consideration.. Gus B :)

Dear Living Black, Thank you for a beaut, balanced program last night. Emma, I know how hard you worked to get the Cape York welfare reform story together and Karla, it was a pleasure to watch a top interviewer at work. Congratulations also for all the complex, behind-the-scenes organisation that I know went into getting it to air, having watched the obstacles unfold and your dogged determination to overcome them. So real thanks to all concerned, also from the Family Responsibilities Commissioner and all at the FRC. Kate Collins Family Responsibilities Commission
Karla could you please let us know why we don't see any aboriginal girls/ladies employed as models and what I do not understand why our Australian airline does not use them in their choir while advertising itself around the world
