It was kicking the winning goal for the Matildas against football powerhouse Brazil that launched Kyah's name into the headlines.
"I try not to boast about it to people, but it's just great to have finally played for my country when that was my childhood goal" Kyah says.
At 17, she's the youngest player on the side but that hasn't stopped her from keeping her eye on the ball.
Matilda's head coach Tom Sermanni says Kyah is "... potentially a starting eleven player which is quite remarkable and particularly considering the strength that we have in our striking forces, it's probably the strongest part we have of the team and she's right in the mix at the moment."
Video Journalist Kris Flanders catches up with the young star in her hometown Sydney, as she prepares for next week's HSC exams.
