KRIS SWEEPS THE NORTH COAST

A big hello to all the mob out there!
I was recently up the north coast of NSW for some stories. The area looks sensational after all the rain they had and the weather was fantastic and made my job very easy by allowing me to get some really great shots.
First stop was to Maclean, where Minister for Community Services, Linda Burney, launched the "Let's Tackle Domestic Violence" campaign.
The NRL and NSW Government have joined forces by trying to stop domestic violence by using rugby league and to get the message through to the community that it's a crime and will not be tolerated. 5 teams throughout the state have signed up to be part of the campaign. It was great to see the community spirit as everyone got right behind the project, the Lower Clarence Magpies club have strong values when it comes to support for community activities.
Next stop was Nambucca Heads, a place that I'm very familiar with. (After all I'm from Coffs Harbour). It's such a beautiful spot and must have one of the most spectacular looking rivers in the country! If you haven't been there do yourself a favour and book your next holidays there. Speaking of the Nambucca River...Jaaning Tree Restaurant is located right on the banks.
It's owned by local man Clayton Donovan who is also the head chef. After working overseas and in some of Sydney's finest restaurants, he realised his dream of opening a restaurant in his home town. If you love fine dining with a great view then you'll love this place!
What about this: smoked kangaroo in lemon myrtle or citrus cured crocodile and for the vegetarians why not feast on a polenta stack with eggplant and capsicum! The interior of the restaurant is adorned with paintings by local artists and really give a splash of colour and culture to your dining experience. I sampled some of the dishes and can give it the big thumbs up!
Both stories will feature on Living Black in the coming weeks...so be sure to check them out. Till next time take care!"
