NEW SOUTH WALES

Laura Grace

Laura has come from the SBS News Library to join the Living Black team this series. Last year she completed an honours degree in Communications, Media Arts and Production at the University of Technology Sydney.

Whilst studying she worked behind the scenes in newspapers, theatre, film and community radio. In her various incarnations she has worked as an editorial assistant for the Sydney Morning Herald, in the press office of the International Milano Film Festival and as the operations coordinator for the Sydney Asia Pacific Film Festival.

Laura has also worked on documentaries that examined subjects as varied as the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, missionaries in the Papua New Guinean highlands and the closure of an historical brewery.

Laura has lived in Italy, Spain and the UK. While overseas she spoke Spanish and Italian pretty well, although her language skills are a little rusty at present.

Laura is excited about working for a program that educates Australians about Indigenous Australia, and looks forward to all that she will learn herself.
