Apple users with ethical demands have gathered at stores around the world, to request a change in the company's production standards.

Apple users with ethical demands have gathered at stores around the world, to request a change in the company's production standards.

In Sydney - as well as in the US, India and Europe -fans delivered a combined 250,000 petitions to get the company to act on conditions in the factory of its Chinese supplier, Foxconn.

Both Apple and Foxconn have been under fire for a spate of suicides and accidents at the firm's plant in Chengdu, China.

Susan Culph of Change.org, which delivered 200,000 of the signatures, told SBS she'd like to see an ethical iPhone.

"'We'd like Apple to take into account all the concerns raised by the supporters who signed the petition."

Bill Code has more.

The world we live is only getting worse

I do not agree with this but this is the 21st century and this is how the world we live in works now. China has become very wealthy and very powerful but abusing it's power, using slave labour, and completely ignoring human rights issues, the same way American and other western companies and executives have become filthy rich by deliberately chosing countries like china to do business with because they know their workers are being underpaid and overworked and they will make more money. from them

Sorry...

Not meaning to see the glass half empty, but don't be surprised when all these well meaning, caring westerners go bat crazy with rage when the price is jacked up to make an ethical iPhone

I'd get an ethical iPhone

Never intended to to get an iPhone but if they did an ethical one I'd get one just to show that consumers actually give a sh!t..
