Qantas passengers can expect further disruption today following rolling stoppages by the airline's maintenance engineers earlier this week.

Qantas said 14 flights would be scratched today, after 29 were cancelled yesterday, despite Qantas Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) members delaying further strikes until tomorrow.

"We have still got flow-on effects as a result of strikes on Monday and Tuesday, including a number of cancellations," the Qantas spokeswoman told AAP yesterday.

"We're contacting all affected passengers and rebooking them on the next available flight and expect it to be within 30 minutes of the original departure times."

Many aircraft have not been maintained because of the strike, causing flow-on delays.

The union is seeking a pay increase of five per cent for its  1,500 workers while Qantas is offering three per cent.

ALAEA federal president Paul Cousins yesterday said the union had handed Qantas a notice of stoppages for tomorrow.

"The last thing Qantas engineers want to do is inconvenience the travelling public but it is unacceptable for a company that is making record profits to expect these hardworking, highly skilled engineers to take a real pay cut," he said.
