In Beijing, Shane Kelly and Stuart O'Grady will become the first Australian cyclists to compete at five Olympic games. Below is a list of the main highlights in their cycling careers.
Shane Kelly
DOB:7/1/72
* Four-time world champion
* In 1995, set the world record for the 1km time trial of
1:00.613. The record stood for five years.
* Olympic results:
1992: 1km time trial, silver
1996: 1km time trial, DNF
2000: 1km time trial, bronze
2004: 1km time trial 4th, keirin bronze, team sprint 4th.
Stuart O'Grady
DOB: 6/8/73
* Tour de France stage winner.
* In 1998, became only the second Australian after Phil Anderson
to wear the yellow jersey as Tour de France race leader
* Track world champion
* Last year became the first Australian to win Paris-Roubaix,
road cycling's famed "Hell of the North" one-day classic.
* Olympic results:
1992: teams pursuit silver
1996: points race bronze, teams pursuit bronze
2000: points race 10th, road race 77th
2004: madison gold (with Graeme Brown), road race 33rd
