3 NATO soldiers killed in Afghan blast
Tuesday, 14 October, 2008NATO says three of its soldiers were killed when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in eastern Afghanistan.
The military alliance said in a statement that the attack happened on Tuesday (AEST). It did not provide the soldiers nationalities or the exact location of the blast. However, the majority of the NATO troops in the east are American.
Violence has risen steadily in Afghanistan since late 2005.
More than 4,700 people - mostly militants - have been killed in insurgency-related violence this year.
