Burma dead or missing tipped at 133 thousand
Saturday, 17 May, 2008
Burma has admitted more than 133 thousand people are dead or missing in the Nargis cyclone disaster.
State television says the huge increase in the toll has come because of difficulties in confirming the figures.
It now says almost 78 thousand are dead and nearly 56 thousand missing.
Meanwhile Burma has allowed more than 100 doctors from neighbouring countries to go into the cyclone-hit country.
The EU's humanitarian aid chief Louis Michel has revealed the breakthrough after a two-day visit to the country.
