Gwyneth Paltrow urges expats to vote for Obama
Tuesday, 5 August, 2008Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is delivering a straightforward message to Americans living outside the US: cast your vote and make it for Barack Obama.
Democrats Abroad, an organisation sanctioned by the national party, launched a web video today in an effort to register American voters around the world and address their concerns and confusion about casting ballots in November.

Paltrow appears in the video along with other US citizens who live outside the country to talk about voting from overseas.
"Vote Democrat. Vote Obama. Vote from abroad," flashes across the screen at the end.
"A vote is a vote, regardless of where you are," one man says in the video.
"Start now, right now," Paltrow says. "I'll be voting from London. But you can vote from anywhere."
Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, lives part of the time in London.
Mr Obama won the Democrats Abroad primary in February after Democrats living in other countries voted by internet, mail and in person.
The overseas branch of the Democratic Party helped register about 250,000 overseas voters in 2004, it said. The organisation estimated more than 7 million Americans live abroad.
